Wailing Wall - Located in the Old City of Jerusalem at the foot of the western side of the Temple Mount. The Temple Mount also holds the Dome of the Rock, one of the most sacred sites in Islam.

The Romans constructed numerous aqueducts to serve any large city in their empire, as well as many small towns and industrial sites. The city of Rome had the largest concentration of aqueducts, with water being supplied by eleven aqueducts constructed over a period of about 500 years. They served drinking water and supplied the numerous baths and fountains in the city.


The Exodus is the story of the departure of the Israelites from ancient Egypt described in the Hebrew Bible. Narrowly defined, the term refers only to the departure from Egypt described in the Book of Exodus; more widely, it takes in the subsequent law-givings and wanderings in the wilderness between Egypt and Canaan.

The Bible talks about the many horses and chariots of King Solomon. Archaeologists have uncovered buildings which may be royal stables from this period


The Tabernacle, according to the Hebrew Torah/Old Testament, was the portable dwelling place for the divine presence from the time of the Exodus from Egypt through the conquering of the land of Canaan.

The Jewish Second Temple was an important shrine which stood in Jerusalem between 516 BCE and 70 CE. It replaced the First Temple which was destroyed in 586 BCE, when the Jewish nation was exiled to Babylon. Both temples were centres of Jewish sacrificial worship and are still most important today in the politics and history of Judaism.
